Etching and Lithography
Through etching and lithographic approaches to print based work I am exploring representational abstraction as a way of communicating themes around the idea of inner landscape. Mark making and the push and pull of space through various inking and etching technics provide endless exploration of variation. Although I do pull traditional editions of plates, it is working in variations of print that is really exciting for me. Working with variations provides opportunity to experience an unfolding of ideas around ecopsychological themes that I am exploring in my current work.
Monotype Prints
Through the painterly techniques and expressive mark making I am investigating the push and pull of space while exploring the idea of speed, and movement within an abstracted image. The picture plain becomes a container that holds chaotic energy represented in nature.
