Printmaking

The time and processes involved in printmaking allow me to workout concepts dealing with inner landscape in ways no other medium can. I am communicating the essence of places remembered, imagined or that appear in dreams. Each printmaking approach has its own unique way of conveying this information.

Lithographic Prints

immersion Series

Lithographic images printed from a stone matrix on Japanese paper and cotton rag.

An ongoing series of prints employing the elements of line, shape, value, and colour to convey the experience of rhythm and energies in nature. Working in black and white or a muted colour palette adds to a sense of timelessness and brings into question the reality of this space. Abstraction of information lends to the notion of familiarity while simultaneously being immersed in something new.

Monotype Prints

Through the painterly techniques and expressive mark making I am investigating the push and pull of space while exploring the idea of speed, and movement of abstracted images.
