Growing Tensions

A discover of internal landscapes through paint

During my undergraduate studies, the paint studio experience was primarily centered around the in-depth exploration of the physicality of paint, its diverse application techniques, and the gradual development of a strong conceptual resolve. By employing a broad range of approaches to paint application alongside intuitive and deliberate colour selection, I gradually began to uncover the infinite possibilities of creating dynamic tension between fixed states and fleeting, ephemeral moments on a two-dimensional surface. The deliberate juxtaposition of organic and geometric forms soon emerged as powerful signifiers, representing the intricate interplay between natural and manmade systems that reflect inner landscapes. Through a more thoughtful, and considerate engagement with abstraction, the dynamic and evolving relationship between the constructed world and the natural environment became increasingly heightened, complex, and nuanced.
