Fresh Air Illustrations
Stone Pile Studio was originally born from a dedicated daily sketching practice, and over time it has gracefully evolved into a carefully curated space to showcase selected illustrations. The heart of the studio lies largely in the rich experiences encountered in nature—particularly while canoeing and hiking through Alberta’s vast and untamed wilderness—that are deeply reflected in the product lines. By crafting seasonal collections of illustrations intended for products that evoke comfort and foster a sense of connection, I aspire to bring the quiet wonder and subtle beauty of the natural world into the intimate spaces we inhabit every day. Most days, you’ll find me outside, either wandering through my garden, trekking along wooded trails, or paddling peacefully in my canoe during the warm summer months, fully immersed in the vibrant life thriving under the sun’s gentle warmth. When winter descends, I often venture out snowshoeing, embracing the serene, frosty magic of the season. Keeping a sketchbook close at hand allows me to thoughtfully document fleeting vignettes of nature and moments from everyday life. I sketch what I observe, then select a small collection of images that are later thoughtfully reproduced on products I cherish and love to use. Each season, I release a thoughtfully curated selection of stationery items, wearable art, and home décor pieces—all items personally used and cherished within my own home.
